Labyrinth Canyon Canoe Spring Break Trip

TRIPS RUNS: Fri, March 3 - Tue, March 7 REGISTER AT RECPORTAL.USU.EDU UNDER OUTDOOR PROGRAMS We are heading down south to the calm flowing waters of the Green River through Labyrinth Canyon. We will load everything we need in canoes and paddle 45 miles of river winding through beautiful sandstone cliffs. Participants must be able to swim and prepared to paddle a canoe in variable springtime weather in a desert environment. The trip cost includes sales tax, food, transportation, vehicle shuttle, permit fee, canoes, tent, sleeping bag, pad, cooking equipment and student leadership. All participants must be fully vaccinated, have health insurance and abide by OP and University Policies.

San Rafael Camping and Hiking Spring Break Trip

TRIPS RUNS: Sat, March 4 - Wed, March 8 REGISTER AT RECPORTAL.USU.EDU UNDER OUTDOOR PROGRAMS We are heading down south for a long weekend to camp and hike in the San Rafael desert. We will establish a base camp and set out on day hike adventures to explore the desert features on the San Rafael area. We are always hoping for sunshine and warmer weather, but everyone should be prepared for variable spring weather and moderate to strenuous physical activity.

Moab Mountain Biking Spring Break Trip

TRIP RUNS: Thu, March 9 - Sun, March 12 REGISTER AT RECPORTAL.USU.EDU UNDER OUTDOOR PROGRAMS We are heading down south to hike and bike the world renown desert red rock in the Moab area. We will spend the weekend exploring some of the amazing mountain biking trails while camping near Moab. Participants must be in good physical condition and prepared for moderate to strenuous biking in a desert environment. No prior experience necessary, beginners are most welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mountain bike (in good working condition) or a rental is available from the OP for no additional cost. Sizes and quantities are limited. Trip cost includes sales tax, mountain bike (if needed), food, transportation, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent and student leadership. All participants must have health insurance and abide by OP and University Policies.

Moab Rock Climbing Spring Break Trip

Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid Course

Workshop/Training

American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning course helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. You will learn some core skills to treat: - Breathing and cardiac emergencies (CPR, AED, choking) - Injuries (broken bones, burns, cuts, stings) - Sudden illnesses (heat/cold emergencies, allergic reactions)

CPR/AED & First Aid for Professional Rescuers

Workshop/Training

The primary purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers and First Aid course is to instruct those who have a duty to act (professional rescuers) in the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately to first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim experiencing cardiac arrest. Register at recportal.usu.edu.

Alumni Backcountry Ski Tour

Alumni! Come grab some backcountry turns with us! We will venture into the Bear River backcountry to seek out snow that you can't get to on a ski lift. Learn some of the basics of backcountry travel and safety. No backcountry experience is required but you must be comfortable riding double blue to black diamond resort terrain. Participants must be prepared for strenuous hiking. Backcountry touring skis or splitboard with skins are required and available to rent for an additional $20+tax for trip participants. NO SNOWSHOES. Trip cost includes transportation, avalanche beacon, shovel, probe and student leadership. Register at recportal.usu.edu

Legacy of Val Day of Service: Athletics United

Join us as we help at Athletics United's winter indoor track meet! Athletics United brings kids, especially kids from refugee backgrounds, together through sport. These young runners have been working hard all winter to reach their goals, and we will be helping time their runs, measure their long jumps and shot put throws, and cheer them on to do their best.
