Science Unwrapped: Computing with Honeybees

Inquiring minds of all ages are invited to Science Unwrapped, the public outreach program of USU's College of Science. Admission is free. Our Feb. 10 speaker is USU computer scientist Vladimir Kulyukin, who presents "Music, Traffic, Solar Harvests: Computing with Honeybees" at 7 pm in the Emert Auditorium (ESLC 130) of the Eccles Science Learning Center on the USU Logan campus. Dr. Kulyukin will speak for about half an hour and then invite questions from the audience. Afterwards, enjoy refreshments and hands-on STEM learning activities provided by student and community groups in the ESLC atrium. Feb. 10, 2023 Talk Description: According to USU computer scientist Vladimir Kulyukin, computation can unlock mysteries of honeybee behavior, how the bees' environment affects how they live, along with the "music" of bees' buzzing. Learn now artificial intelligence can transform hives into robots to monitor the health of these important pollinators.
